Polk County Historical Society

VISITORS, VOLUNTEERS AND NEW MEMBERS ALWAYS WELCOME!

The Polk County Historical Society was formed in 1959.  We are an all volunteer organization.  We operate with donated funds, grants, memberships and admissions.  We receive no governmental funding.  We have several major fund raisers, our fall membership appeal, Brunk House's Annual Apple Festival and our July Porch Sale to mention a few.  We currently have over 450 members, and always welcome new members and volunteers.

BRUNK HOUSE..1861 FARMSTEAD, A STEP BACK IN TIME
Historic Brunk House was listed in the National Register of Historic Sites in 1975.  It was designated a Century Farm in 1959.  Currently PCHS maintains the house and grounds with the assistance of the Master Gardners Program.
